Who are the best Italian football players? This list consists of the best soccer players from Italy. The Italian men’s national soccer team has a long and celebrated history of winning tournaments and producing some of the top international talent. So much so that the Azzurri have won four world cups as well as two European Championships. So, who are the greatest footballers from Italy? Who is the greatest Italian soccer player of all time?

Some of the greatest Italian soccer players include national legends such as Gigi Buffon, Andrea Pirlo as well as Fabio Cannavaro. There are also young Italy football stars such as Ciro Immobile, Marco Verratti in addition to Lorenzo Insigne who assisted Italy win the Euro Cup in 2021.

Gigi Buffon

Owing to his longevity and consistency, Gigi Buffon is generally regarded as one of the best goalkeepers of all time. He is still going strong at 44. (He will be 45 years old on 28 January 2023)

His distinguished 26-year career has seen him lift a World Cup and accumulate an impressive collection of a number of league titles. Had it not been thanks to a Cameroonian goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon may have never reached such dizzying heights.

Andrea Pirlo

Andrea Pirlo was born 19 May 1979 and is an Italian professional football coach and former player. He is currently the manager of Süper Lig club Fatih Karagümrük. Considered as one of the best deep-lying playmakers ever, Pirlo was renowned for his vision, ball control, technique, creativity, passing, and free kick ability.

Fabio Cannavaro

Fabio Cannavaro was born on 13 September 13, 1973, Naples, Italy. He is an Italian professional football (soccer) player who led his country to victory in 2006 at the World Cup.

At age 11 Cannavaro started playing soccer on the junior team for the SSC Napoli (Naples) soccer club. In 1993 he was requested to play with Napoli’s first team — which is at the highest level of Italian professional soccer. He performed quite well for them for two years before moving to Parma AC, where he assisted his new team win two Italian cups, the Union of European Football Associations Cup and the Italian Super Cup.

Ciro Immobile

Ciro Immobile Cavaliere was born in early 1990 and is an Italian professional footballer. He plays as a striker for Serie A club Lazio, which he captains, and the Italian national team. Immobile started his career at Sorrento. In 2009, he was bought by Juventus and later was loaned out to three Serie B clubs, including Pescara, with who he won the league title as the top scorer prior to moving to Genoa in 2012. He’s as exciting to watch as the action at online casino sites in Sri Lanka and has  a huge local fan base.

Marco Verratti

Marco Verratti Cavaliere was born on 5 November 1992. He is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain in addition to the Italian national team. He is usually considered to be one of the absolute best midfielders in the world.

An imaginative, hard-working, and technically gifted playmaker, Verratti started his career with Pescara in 2008, where he soon rose to be the best young midfielders in Europe.
